Summer has arrived in Wales and with it very high temperatures. The horses are being turned out after seven in the evening and come in about 7.30 am.
The yard happens to be the coolest place on the farm and after the farrier visit this morning they are all having a siesta . They are all checked before our day is finished to check fly rugs and fly spray to keep the bugs away. Its essential in this hot weather that all livestock is checked to ensure they are drinking plenty of water and there are no cases of heat exhaustion. Which reminds me to have another glass of water before I return back to the yard!
